FREE RECIPE FRIDAY 😁

Turmeric Hummus
2 C Chickpeas, drained
1 Garlic Clove
1 TBS Tahini
3 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar
1/4 C EVOO
1 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp Sea Salt

👉Add all ingredients together in a food processor or VitaMix. Blend until a creamy consistency forms. Enjoy veggies, brown rice tortilla chips, on a salad, in a wrap or as a sandwich spread.
👉Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge up to 3-5 days, or in the freezer up to 6 months.

Curcumin - the active ingredient in turmeric, is a natural compound (polyphenol) which has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, research has also shown turmeric can be beneficial for:

When the proverbial yak dung is hitting the fan, we can find inspiration - and activism - in yoga.

Sure, you can get on your mat, decompress, and nourish your body-mind-spirit. And I encourage that. But I also invite you to look deeper into the ethical teachings of the yamas and niyamas. These foundational practices offer sound guidance that can be implemented immediately to effect change. And there is no time to waste.

Yoga is inherently political. Not in a red-versus-blue kind of way, but in a “how do I live with integrity and stay socially engaged in a broken world?” kind of way.

When the world is spinning, the basics become sacred. Getting back to fundamental teachings provides the clarity and steadiness we need to do the next right thing — and the next thing right.

Even though we’re in heavy, damp, stable Kapha season, so many of us are experiencing Vata-driven symptoms like:
