Wait, it’s Tuesday??

I’m getting a late start on my meal prep for the week (understatement) so here goes:

Roasted veggies - broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrot, Brussels, garlic, yellow pepper - tossed with #evoo @daleanddaughter horseradish mustard (#omg so good!), and various Italian seasonings from the pantry.

While the veggies were roasting, I cooked up a pot of Balanced Kitchari from @divyaalter / @divyas.nyc .

Warm and soothing and full of flavor; it’s just what I needed for lunch today and will fortify me (and keep me grounded) in the busy days ahead.

The texts of Ayurveda advise us against overloading our plates and our stomach. Maintaining a strong, steady digestive fire - called agni - is paramount to our overall health. When we eat beyond our capacity, we place an enormous burden on our agni resulting in sluggish digestion, decreased motility, stagnant bowels, and digestive distress.

Try eating until you are 75% full. This is an effective guideline that has a remarkably balancing effect on your digestive strength (not to mention your weight and your energy).
